Swasth Jeevan – Health camps
Swami Vivekananda Rural Development Society places a great deal of emphasis on the health of the village community.
- General Health Check-ups, Eye Screening and Heart Check-up Camps are conducted regularly for the villagers.
- Cancer screening is conducted on a regular basis for all villagers, thus spreading awareness.
- Free cervical cancer vaccines were administered to 600 unmarried Acharyas of Single Teacher Schools costing around Rs.10.00 Lakhs
STS Students & Teachers are actively involved in conducting Health Awareness Camps on diseases such as Dengue, Malaria, etc., for the community.
Corporate Entities and Hospitals sponsor Health Screening Camps through their CSR schemes. Doctors and Paramedical staff work actively in this area.
So far, over 24850 villagers have been benefitted by the camps.
COVID-19
During the pandemic, Teachers & Supervisory staff extended help to the village community.
Kabasura Kudineer was given to villagers free of cost to improve their immunity.
Free masks were distributed to community residents.
Children & elders were educated on general hygiene and maintaining Social Distancing.
Food grains and essentials were distributed free to the village community.
